I recently bought a 97b. This is my first handgun with a safety, everything else has been a decocker version (75BD, Sig 220 etc). How do you guys train to swipe off the safety before drawing, especially under stress such as competition and defense?

Hey, it only took me 8 years to finally get one.:p I haven't decided if I want to sand down the grips or not. Kinda like the rough texture, but sure would be nice to bring out the nice walnut grain. SA trigger is somewhat better than my 75's when new. Still needs time to wear in.

I've used the snot out of my 75BD the past few years, mostly my fairly mild reloads. Lately during mag changes in competition the slide will slam forward if the mag is shoved in with authority. Nice feature really, but I don't like something going on that wasn't there before.

The peep hole on my M&P Sport is a bit large. I'd like to have one the size of my Garand so the front sight will come into focus, along with the target. Other than getting a $$$ replacement, is there some other trick I can do to make the hole smaller?
