    Anyone load .32-20 with BP?

I have a .32-20 revolver, an S&W. It's in pretty rough shape. I have a much better S&W .32-20 on the way. That got me to thinking what I want to do with the old .32-20, and naturally I thought black powder. I have only a very vague idea what I need to do to load cartridges with BP. I've shot...

    Fort Knox Ranger safe

I made arrangements to purchase a Ft. Knox Ranger safe yesterday. The guy I'm getting it from says that it's a discontinued model, on par with the Maverick, about 3" shorter with a bit better fire protection. He bought 50 of them from Ft. Knox when they were discontinued and has been selling...

Man killed by deer at Texas hunting ranch

Dang, killed by a rare deer. This is the first time I've heard about someone being gored by a deer in years, let alone being killed by it. http://www.woai.com/mostpopular/story/Exotic-deer-gores-man-to-death/4Qahp4lVLUCZcE9Ct9LByA.cspx

Savage 99 in .358 Winchester alert!

Just came across this one for sale on Gun Broker: http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=141660853 Typical stock for one of this period, ugly as hell recoil pad, but the .358 makes all that irrelevant. Were the situation a little different right now, I'd bid on it... I expect there...

South Korea to sell Garands, Carbines to US shooters

SWEET! Maybe this time I'll finally take the plunge and get myself a Garand, or Carbine, or both... http://www.ammoland.com/2009/09/23/south-korea-to-sell-108000-garand-rifles-to-us-gun-collectors/

    Winchester WinChoke tubes...

Does anyone know if anyone makes choke tubes that fit the Winchester 1200 WinChoke system that use a muzzle wrench instead of that worthless little spanner that Winchester provided?

    Inexpensive tumbler...

Right up front, I'll say I have never tumbled my brass. If it's dirty, I wash it. If it's stained or tarnished, I don't care. That said, I had a couple of misfires/squibs this weekend that I can only attribute to lube contamination of my powder. I loaded 100 rounds of .32-20 with Trail Boss...

AAAAaaahhhhhhhhh... I love getting ready for vacation...

What with the 3 rifles, 11 handguns, and 5,200 rounds of ammo that are going with me this time around... It's going to be a fun, and LOUD, vacation! :p

    SCORE! What a gift!

A friend of mine yesterday gave me a brand spanking new in box Belding & Mull micrometer tube powder measure. Looks to have been made in the 1970s judging by the datasheet that was with it. This thing was so new that the box wasn't even dog eared at the corners, and the crackle paint on the...

    Removing bluing

I need to remove the bluing from an old S&W revolver. A lot of it is gone, but I'd like to finish the job and reblue it. What products are there on the market for this? I know I can use Birchwood Casey Blue & Rust remover, but it's hard to find, harsh as all get out, and expensive.

Removing the extractor on a Remington Model 58 shotgun

OK, what's the trick? I have to replace the extractor on my Model 58. It sheared off the last time I went shooting. I'm trying to get the old one out, but I'll be darned if I can figure out what I need to do to get it free. Anyone?

Extractor sheared off my Remignton 58...

I was shooting wobble trap today with some friends when the extractor on my Remington 58 Sportsman sheared off, leaving me with an empty in the chamber and having to play "pass the shotgun" with my friends so that I could finish the round. Annoying. I'm seeing some indications that the...

    12 Monkeys revolver

Just watched 12 Monkeys, the movie with Bruce Willis. At the end, Jose hands James a revolver in the airport. It LOOKS like a Le Mat, but it's not, I don't think. Anyone know what it is?

S&W Model 18-3 coming my way

I just won this auction on Gun Broker. I've been thinking about a K frame .22 for a long time. Earlier this week a friend picked up a Model 17-2, so I figured the time was right to get one of my own. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=128983059 One of the pix...

Good deal on Kershaw Scallion, Leek, factory seconds

http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?threadid=1333987 Not bad prices. Shipping is a flat rate $7.95 on a single or multiple items. I like the Kershaw knives, but I already have several very good folders, so I think I'm going to pass on this one.

    Remington 58 Sportsman

Anyone have one? I was thinking that I had a minor problem with mine, but I just came across an oblique reference to another Remington shotgun that makes me think it's not a problem... The 'problem' is the left shell latch. When I take my gun down for a full, complete cleaning, which involves...

Nation's Gun Show radio advert this morning...

The Nation's Gun Show is the one held at the Dulles Expo Center outside of DC. It's big and very good (but expensive to get into). There's one coming up this weekend, and I heard a radio commercial this morning that just made me shake my head... "Come to the Nation's Gunshow this weekend and...

    CZ Ringneck owners...

Every year around this time I get the hankering for a SxS 28 gauge, but so far I've been able to convince myself that it's never been a good time financially. The urge is hitting again, so those of you who own ringnecks, tell me... Any problems with yours? How is the finish holding up?

    Gotta love Alaska!

Where else would a geologist use a Smith & Wesson 629 in .44 Magnum with a 6" barrel to provide scale reference to a geological formation? Alaska, that's where! :p About halfway down the page. http://ic.ucsc.edu/~casey/eart150/Lectures/ShearZones/15shearZns.htm

Got my double action .45 ACP...

I've wanted one for a long time. I had it narrowed down to a PX4 Storm by Beretta or a Ruger P345. Headed to the Dulles Gun Show today to see if I could find one. Found a table with GREAT prices on both... PX4 for $525, and a P345 for $429. But.... Those were the cash prices. Credit...
