My wife and I watched the movie about Ernest Hemingway a couple of days ago (the one where you get nice views of Nicole Kidman's assets). That got me curious about Hemingway so I did some Googling and found out that he shot himself with a Boss shotgun. I'd never heard of Boss, so I started researching them. Dang, I'd sure love to have one. The only problem is that I don't have a spare $75,000 laying around to plunk down on one. Oh well, I can still dream.

Never bought one yet, but movies have made me drool,,,
Dirty Harry made me want a Model 29.
The Unforgiven made me want a Schofield.
Lethal Weapon made me want a Beretta 92F.
The Shadow made me want an H&R Handi Gun.
Dr. No made me want a tiny Beretta.
From Russia With Love made me want an Armalite AR-7.
Zulu made me want a Webley revolver of any ilk.
Every cowboy movie made me want a Colt Peacemaker.
And the list could go on and on.
Interestingly enough though,,,
I've never purchased any of these guns.
I do own a S&W Model 629,,,
But it was a gift from a dear friend.

Yep one movie The Good Bad And the Ugly. Those Navys and Remingtons and especially that Cattleman's carbine. I wouldn't turn any down if offered that's for sure.

not a movie but, Call of Duty has me drooling over a model 1887 shotgun.

YES! "THE HIRED HAND" . Peter Fonda starred and directed it. Warren Oates was his Riding buddy. In the movie, Oates carried an old Navy B/P and Fonda carried a Peacemaker. I have it on DVD, and Fonda gives a prologue in which he wanted to protray the west as it was in the 1880's. There are Walkers, multi-barreled derringers, and all types of period correct rifles and shotguns. It was the first "Period Correct" western I ever saw and really started me on my six gun path. I believe you can still rent it, as it became something of a cult classic. It pulls no punches and the sound- track is amazing. The music was released on a CD years ago, which I also got. Give it a look! It came out in 1971. In the final shoot-out scene, everybody misses their targets except for a couple luck shots, and the hero , well I won't ruin it for you should you decide to watch it.

I think every WWII movie I watched as a kid got me hooked on 1911s.
An awful lot of movies have sold a lot of guns. All the westerns made from the 1920's on sold a lot of leverguns and SA revolvers even though almost none are period correct for the movies.The "A Team" sold lots of Mini -14's.
For me personally Tom Selleck in Magnum PI influenced me to get into 1911's more than any other movie or TV program.

If, let me say that again, IF it would work as it does in the movie, I might be tempted to pick up a copy of Jesse Ventura's mini gun from the movie "Predator".
I have some stubborn brush to clear along my back fence and his gun seems to do that very well.

When I was in Genoa Italy years back I picked up a SPAS12 (pre "I'll be Back"). Total jamomatic POS, when the movie came out I was able to sell it at a gun shop in Norfolk for about 5X what it cost me.
EDIT: I was also able to get t cheaper than what he was selling it for, no uniform, paid U.S. cash and my Nonna lived about 20 miles north so my Italians not that bad.
