    Had your revo Metalifed?

Or, any other hard-chrome treatment? Did you have action work done prior to the finishing that was adversely affected? Any regrets or peeves? Thanks.

Hogue's Bantam grip for K/L RB

I have had a set or 'regular' Hogues on my RB K-frame, so I thought I'd give these a try. These dispense with the aggravating chore of installing the grip screw stirrup on the bottom of the grip. That's a big plus alone. They go on quite easily with the help of a little wedge-shaped...

    Sentry safes at Wally World?

I've thought about the Mossberg pistol box with key-pad to securely hold a pistol at home for the wife. We don't care for the units with just a Simplex lock. I found this Sentry safe, also with key-pad, for FAR less than the Mossy. Granted, it's the size of a TV set, but I it can hold more...

    S&W trigger geometry?

Has it changed at all with the introduction of the MIM parts? One smith says that K/L/N triggers are universal, and he's put several 'old' triggers into MIM-equipped guns. The main reason being that they have solid backs and are easily drilled and tapped for trigger stops. Another says that the...

MIM parts?: This is worth a few clicks

    Some MAS 49/56 questions.

Can you tell me how to remove the trigger action from the receiver? How about the stock, if that's not too obvious when the trigger mech comes out? Is there any special tool(Brownell's?) for the screw holding together the forend band and sling swivel? Or, must I modify a screwdriver for the...

My Uncle Mike's Boot Grips are 'stuck'!

Shame on me.:( I've noted that the end of the grip screw and the bushing into which it threads have been rusted for quite some time. Well, tonight I though I'd do the right thing and clean it all up. Trouble is, the screw just turns and turns, turning the bushing with it. I have dremeled away...

    Anyone wore out a Security-Six?

Much is known about how light-bullet .357 loads can take a toll on the K-frame Smiths. The Ruger has a 'thicker' topstrap, and offset cylinder-stop(bolt) notches. Theoretically, it should be stronger. Has anyone ever witnessed a Sec-6/Speed-6 with a similar problem(s)?

    'Target Gray'.480 Ruger Finish?

Has this got something to do with the alloy or heat-treatment of the metal? It looks like the same treatment that I saw on a .22WMR Varmint gun from Ruger. This is a beautiful finish that would probably be very much appreciated on the SP/GP series also.

How much should a S&W trigger cost?

A local smith has a stash of the earlier narrow, K/L/N-frame triggers that he bought from S&W(pre-MIM). I am thinking about getting a couple, but I don't want to be gouged. Any idea?

Say what you will about Dr. Laura...

but, I just heard her unabashedly defend the principle of keeping one at home for protection. A caller expressed her concerns over the fact her husband keeps a gun in a 'lockbox' in the closet. They have several small children, and apparently the poor schmuck left it lay out(unloaded) on the...

    Anybody make .38 wadcutters...

that are copper washed, or fully plated? I just cranked off some lead today, and I CAN'T STAND the smoke and filth, even though I was outdoors. If there is no such beast, I'll restrict myself to the 158gr SWC. Thanks.:)

Custom stocks: HOW are they different?

I've been looking at some of the selections via links that another poster(:)) provided in another thread. Forego the Hogue/Pachmayr concept for a bit, I'm asking regarding the other 'traditional' styles. Things like the Skeeter, Jordan or the late Herett's(sp?) style. Can you describe the...

Anyone bought a .22 Buck Mark recently?

Perhaps this is not the proper forum, but I suspect that I encountered a shady dealer practice tonight. I had a BuckMark which I bought new about three years ago, and regretfully sold within 6 mos. I encountered one on sale tonight for $247. It was even improved slightly over the one I had...

    Safariland Comp I/Comp II loaders?

Is there any difference in the way these two function? I'm quite familiar with the C2, but the only thing I see for the N-frame seems to be the C1. That smaller knob atop the body doesn't appear too easy to grab onto.

Price on older Taurus M96 .22?

I just came across one of these NIB. I've never seen one before, but it looks like a 6rd. S&W M18(?) K-frame .22. It has a 6" tube with unshrouded ejector, and a solid set of broad, partridge type target sights. The entire top is serrated from the front sight back to the rear. There's a wide...

Back-up gun, or a NY Reload?

A few recent threads have brought this idea back to the forefront, and I wanted to set it apart for separate discussion. For those of you who carry(LE or CCW)a back-up(BUG), what is your primary reason? I carry one in case of the failure of, or somehow being disarmed of, my primary gun(PG).:(...

    Dealer cost on MP-5?

Also, a Sterling SMG(if they are still being produced.) One of the local shops is building an indoor range. They are buying some class III to have for on-site rental. They will also be providing escorted, off-premises arrangements, ostensibly for wealthy tourists. I asked about those two guns...

Anyone know about this odd revolver?

This is the description from one of the 'For Sale' sites: "In 30 plus years of gun dealing we have never seen one of these, either here in the USA or abroad. This S&W lookalike in .38 Special caliber is in 6 shot version, round butt, diamond grips, with cylinder latch like a Colt detective...
