    Desert Eagle Q

What is the difference between the Desert Eagle Mark VII, Mark XIX, etc.? Yes, I know they are roman numerals, and I even know what numbers they are. My question is whether they refer to caliber, finish, barrel length, or whether one is just a newer version of the other.

    Walker, Texas Ranger

I'm pretty sure that Walker uses a Taurus 9mm (I forget the model #), but I can't seem to figure out what Trevett uses. I'm leaning towards a Walther P5, but I can never seem to get a good look at it. Anyone?

    Problem with my Glock Solution???

OK. Without getting bashed here, I think that one of the weaker parts of the Glock is the magazine, particularly the magazine spring. They get weak after a while, and keeping the slide back after emptying a mag becomes a problem, as does ejecting an empty mag. Anyway, has anyone had experience...

    Glock Solution

There was a posting not too long ago about factory glock drop free mags that failed to drop free, even when empty. Anyway, I was at a gun show this weekend at the Glock armourer's booth, and I was thinking about the question. Fortunately, some cop walks up and tells the guy he's having the...

    Kel-Tec options

I finally broke down today and bought a Kel-Tec P-11 with the standard finish. 219 plus tax at the gun show, if you were wondering. Anyway, my question is how does the 9mm compare to the .40, and how does the basic finish compare to the parkerized or stainless(?) finish? Finally, what's the...

Why do they start with "P"

Have you ever noticed that some/most of the great guns start with the letter "P": P99, P13.45, P7M8, P229, P11, etc.? Coincidence? I think not! Does anyone know what the "P" stands for???

    USP Question

I've been checking out the USP (which I like very much) and have noticed something interesting: most of them new run around 600-650 dollars or so with one exception (other than the tactical, socom, etc.): the variant 7. The variant 7 is the DAO (double action only) version, and I've seen it...

    USP Dilema

So I like the USP. I've fired a few of various calibers and sizes. To me, the size to firepower ratio is important. Ideally, I would like a compact .40 (12 round clip), but they never made non-LEO hi caps for it. The compact 9mm is tempting (there are a few legal 13 round clips out there, though...

First time at the range with the Carbon-15

So I called around to make sure I could shoot the .223 Carbon 15 pistol at the local (Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, FL) ranges. Big Al's said no, but Outdoor World said "sure". I get to Outdoor World (after a 40 minute drive) and they say I can't shoot it because it's an "assault weapon". I...

    Jogging gun???

I went jogging for the first time in a while. I grabbed my Sig 229 because that's what was loaded, and put it into my nylon fanny pack. Well, needless to say, it was a little heavy with all the bouncing inherent to jogging. My question is, what would be a good gun to carry jogging and how...

    Galco Deep Cover

Does anyone have any experience with the Galco Deep Cover holster? I'm thinking about getting one, but not sure how well it works.

    S&W 5906

My latest gun fantasies have revolved around the S&W 5906. I always thought the controls were spaced a little far for my medium/small hands, but have been considering one lately nonetheless after seeing a friend of mine's S&W .40 (not sure which model; single stack with 4 inch barrel and bobbed...

    Smith & Wesson 342ti

I have the 342ti, and have noticed the piece around the barrel has become slightly loose. I pulled out the paperwork, and it says you can tighten it by firing it (the bullet pushes against the rifling as it exits, twisting the barrel which in turn tightens the piece around the barrel). Has...

Anyone know about the Carbon-15 Pistol???

I just recently ordered a Carbon 15 type 97 pistol. I haven't recieved it yet, though. Does anyone have one, and if so do you like it? For those of you unfamiliar with it, you can check it out at www.c-15.com.

    Mini-14

Can anyone tell me what year my mini-14 was made? The serial number is 186-968XX. I left out the last two numbers because I don't think it matters, and they always do that in Guns & Ammo. The Ruger website only goes to 1993. -Brandon
