    Help me ID this gun

This gun is featured as the model for the DeSantis ankle holster on page 8 of the most recent Dillon Blue Press. I'm including a link for those of you who don't have it handy: http://dillonprecision.com/template/p.cfm?maj=8&min=0&dyn=1& Anyway, my question is what is this gun? My best guess is...

Did S&W ever make a factory nickel 66?

I went ot the gunshow today, and one of the few really interesting pieces they had was a nickel S&W Model 66 with wood grips and a 4 inch barrel. The guy said it was used, and was a factory nickel finish. I've never heard of a factory nickel finish on a 66. Can anyone help? Was this guy giving...

    Stinger Pen Gun

Has anyone seen one of these up close? Has anyone fired one? Does anyone own one? I came across them on the auction websites, and they look very cool. Are they worth it, or are they junk? Should I buy one? Thanks in advance.

Did I give up too good of a deal?

I bought my NIB circa 1985 S&W 686 with 4 inch barrel and wood grips off one of the gun auction websites for 370 plus shipping. I couldn't be happier with the gun or the deal. Then I see a NIB S&W 66 with 4 inch barrel and wood grips (probably made around the same time because it obviously had...

Bad TV Gun Handling: The Shield

I just saw this on The Shield, and had to post. Vic, the main character (the bald guy), is cleaning his S&W semi-auto (4506?). It's not disassembled, and the slide is not even locked back, but he still sticks the cleaning rod down the barrel. When he's done, he puts the magazine back in (with...

    P7 Ankle Holster

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1834070915 I can think of lighter guns for ankle carry.

    Kel-Tec Problem

My P11 shoots a little to the left. I know that I need to move the rear sight to the right, but how do I do it? Is it dovetailed like my Beretta so I can put it in a vise and whack it a few times with a brass punch and hammer? Or is it like the Glock where you need a special tool? Any suggestions?

    Please Help

I have been using my Dillon 650 with no problems to load 9mm. I've since switched to .38, and cannot get the case to feed into the sizing/decapping die properly. The rim of the case gets caught up on the edge of the die, and prevents it from going any further until you give it a nudge or pull...

    Anyone chrono'd .357's from a J-frame?

Has anyone actually chronographed the speed of .357's out of a 2 inch (or 1 7/8 - 2 1/8) J-frame? How does this compare to the same bullets out of longer tubes, or alternatively to .38's out of the same tubes? I'm trying to figure out if there is any benfit to .357's out of such short tubes...

    Dillon Service

I know I've made similar posts before, but I had a couple minor problems with my 650 when I switched over from 9mm to .38. A 2 minute phone call to Dillon got me a new microswitch and spacer for my casefeeder (I even told them I'm not sure if the spacer was never in the box or lost by me, but...

    Hs-6

I've been using Bullseye and more recently HP-38 for my 9mm's. I'm in the process of converting my Dillon 650 to load .38 and .357, and bought some Winchester 231 since I heard good things about it, but my Hodgdon reloading manual didn't support it, so I traded it on some HS-6 (store was real...

    Glock 27 Price Check

I am leaning towards the Glock 27, new in box, standard sights. I've been pricing them, and got a best price at the gunshow of $475, plus tax. Is this a good price? A great price? Are the prices going up or down? I've checked the auction websites (gunbroker and auctionarms, as well as...

    Glock 27 or Kahr MK40

I'm in the process of narrowing down the choices for my next gun. I already have a few ankle guns, but this next one will hopefully be my Holy Grail of ankle guns. How do these two compare, and which should I get? I'd particularly appreciate responses from those who own both.

    Saw a BFR Today

I saw a huge revolver. Turns out it was a BFR (Biggest Finest Revolver; though I think it really stands for Big F***ing Revolver) made by Magnum Research. Had about a 10 inch barrel and shoots (get this) .45-70. Wow. Anyone ever shot one of these? I thought my .44 Mag Anaconda was pretty heavy...

    Glock 27 opinions

I was at the gunshop looking for powder, and noticed that they had a Glock 26 and a Galco ankle glove. I couldn't help but try them on together, and it was surprisingly comortable. I had been considering the Glock 27 as my new ankle gun, but thought it might be too chunky. My questions are...

    Best Ankle Gun

While ankle carry may not be the most perfect mode of carry, it's the most used by me. I'd rather have a gun at the waist than at the ankle, but I'd rather have a gun at the ankle than at home. Anyway, I alternate between a few ankle guns, including the Walther PPK, Kel-Tec P11, S&W Model 60...

    Hammer Mounted Firing Pin

My new (NIB, new for me, but made in 1985 I believe) S&W 686 has the firing pin mounted on the hammer. I've also seen a few gun ads which mention this, and seem to imply that it is a good thing. My questions are: is it a good thing, and what are the advantages?

    Need help dating!

Well, yes, that too. However, I was talking about getting the date of manufacture of a gun. It's a S&W 686 with a 4 inch barrel and factory wood grips. It has the firing pin mounted on the hammer, and a different looking cylinder release than I'm used to (it's bigger and rounded). It's serial...

I don't really want any more handguns

I have a bunch of guns. Love them all. .25 to .50. A little of everything. However (and fortunately because this habit is expensive), there are no more out there that I really love. Sure, I wouldn't an SP89 or a Colt SAA, but there's nothing else out there that I really "need". Anyone else have...

    Ordered a Versa Max 2

After missing one here on the TFL for sale area, I was looking all around for a deal but finally broke down and decided to order a VM2. I ordered a black horsehide for my Glock 23 (I almost got it for the P99). The guy said it would take 8-14 weeks. I've heard good things. Will I love this thing?
