    Deer decoy.....w/pics.

For my birthday the kids thought I should have a deer decoy....not something I would have a put as a high priority. Tried it out, dang.....the thing really works! This is the "Bucky Jr" brand. Anyone else have pro-or-con experiences with these? Decoy is on the far right....

    The Antler Tree...

After nearly 40 years of hunting you tend to accumulate antlers. Having filled a couple of trophy rooms I could never quite figure how to display the racks that didn't get mounted.....here's something I've had in the back of my mind for some time. Cut a 8' length of tree and mounted it to a...

Do the best Trap shooters carry extra ballast?

OK, a little light hearted humor here, no scientific evidence to back this up....but I'm convinced the best trap shooters have extra ballast that gives them an edge. :D Must have something to do with stance and having no neck.....but we have quite a few "XXXL" guys in the club that consistently...

    Mossberg 501.....kids first shotgun.

Picked up a 20 gauge Mossberg 501 for the grandkids to get started on. Actually took the kids to several places in order to get them properly fitted. We tried a number of different brands of youth shotguns but this one fit them best. I think Mossberg hit a home run with this Bantam model. Since...

    I'm not a thief......but I stole this!

Stopped by Sam's Club for a couple of items, and saw this with the closeout and clearance items. Looked again at the price, not sure it was real or not....asked a clerk and they assured me it was correct. Seems it was a floor display model with a little scratch on the back corner. Been needing...

Black Friday at the gun show, dealer just got two in yesterday......lucky enough to snag one ($375). Have seen these on the GSG web site, but it was too neat to pass up. Wasn't real keen on the rail, but decided to make the best of it....picked up a quick detach light to go with it. Appears...

    I ain't no "Jeremiah Johnson".....

Always enjoyed the movie "Jeremiah Johnson" and envisioned that I could handle the mountain man life just fine.....well this last hunt proved me wrong. As the crusty old trapper Bear Claw Chis Lapp called Johnson, I too would be a "Starvin Pilgrim" if I were a mountain man. We've had 28" of...

    Hunters....trouble keeping ATV tires inflated?

Anyone else had trouble keeping their ATV tires inflated?....between cactus and locust thorns I seemed to spend more time fixing tires than hunting. Tire shops cuss me out because of all the "slime" that's been injected. This year I'm ready....got some new 6 ply Essex tires that have Kevlar...
