    Hybrid 100V

Hello all. I was looking at load data for a 7MM Mauser I just aquired, and came across a listing for a powder call Hybrid 100V. What is thiis stuff? It is listed as a Hodgdon powder, but it is not on their website. Anyone have an answer? If not, I'm gonna have three questions for Hodgdon on...

    Benchmark 1 and 2.

I've been looking at a few burn rate charts and I see they have Benchmark 1 and Benchmark 2 listed. Anyone know what the deal with this is? I'm guessing Hodgdon changed the formulation at some point, but how do I know which formulation I have?

    Ohio dove hunting.

Hunting season (other than g-hog, coyote, and hogs) is finally here on September 1st! Doves and squirrel. I myself find myself giddy at the thought of eating "doves nuggets". Anyone else?:)

    J. Stevens 20 gauge side by side.

I was hoping to get a (close to) year of manufacture and possible value of this gun. It is a 20 gauge side by side shotgun with the following marks. J. Stevens Arms Company, Chicopee Falls MA 5100 Selected Forged Steel Proof Tested 20 Gauge It has double triggers with a tang safety. It also...

    Best shot you've personally witnessed.

This thread is about the best/most amazingly accurate/lucky kill you've witnessed. And no "About 10 hours later we found it" stuff. I'd also like to not here about shooting deer "in the head at 100yds with a 22LR". Anyway, I'll start it off with this. I and my uncle take off from my father by...

    .243Win for Elk?

Would you trust a .243Win rifle to take down your trophy Elk? I wouldn't. But I was flipping through the channels a while back, and flipped to the Outdoor Channel. There was a boy (12 or 13 I'd say) sighting in on a nice bull. He shoots. He misses. Bull just takes a few steps and stops. The boy...

    Totally tarnished brass.

I got my metal detector out yesterday and found 70 pieces of .40S&W brass that had been laying on the ground for about 5 months. This stuff was black, super dark brown, whatever you want to call it. Tiny insects had made some of them their home. So I tossed it in the tumbler last night and...

    Tallest firearms tales.

You know the ones. "I hit that pop can at 700yds with my 22LR!" Stuff like that. This really gave me a chuckle. One day at work I was telling this guy I was getting great groups at 200yds since I started reloading. So then he says, "Yeah, my brother reloads. He hits light bulbs at 5 miles with...

    Ohio bobcat.

Last February my father and I were coyote hunting in a very big, reclaimed coal operation in SE Ohio. So we set up about 100yds from each other in this field about 200yds from a smallish area of woods. It's hard to explain this area. It used to be a very big active coal mining area, but they...

    Lee's collet die guarantee.

Here it is. Lee Collet Die Set "There is no loading system that will load more accurate ammunition than Lee Collet Dies. We guarantee it in writing with every set. No one but Lee has ever dared to make a guarantee like this "Smallest group size or your money back." A collet squeezes the case...

Email from Ohio Department of Natural Resources

I sent this e-mail to the ODNR a while ago and was wanting your opinions on the subject. I was wanting to know some of your justifications as why rifles shooting handgun ammo during statewind gun season are illegal. My hangun shoots the EXACT same bullet as my muzzleloader and my muzzleloader...

    On the fence: Taurus PT101

Well I almost bought a PT101. I loved the way it felt in my hand. I loved the trigger. I loved the features. The slide felt tight and it generally felt well built. Everything seemed to lock up nice and tight. The finish wasn't the greatest but acceptable for a $400 gun. But there, in the back...

    Dixon Howa Golden Bear

My buddy bought a Dixon Howa Golden Bear 30-06Springfield and I'm having a hard time finding any info on the history/value of this gun. Anyone here have any experience with these rifles? It looks like it's barely been used and is in great shape. He said he paid $200 for it and was wondering if...

    Who blinks while shooting?

I'm not talking flinching. Just blinking. It always takes me a number of rounds of shooting a new gun before I start trusting it and quit blinking. But when I do quit blinking I can see the holes being punched before I feel the gun going off. It is just a fraction of a second. I must be much...

    EAA Witness 10MM

I was looking at the 10MM pics thread and saw that Winess and thought "boy that is a beatiful gun." Then I went to the website and saw the MSRP. $489! That is very cheap! In the store it would probably be around $330. This seems to good to be true if these run as good as what I've read. So does...

    CCW Holster

I'm a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy. Is there any holster out there that will let me conceal my Sigma in the summer when I'm in a t-shirt and shorts? I'm thinking under the arm pit might be the best. But I don't want it swinging wildly under there. Do they make a tuxedo holster that has a strap...

    357SIG vs .357Magnum

    Have at it.

How did 357SIG get it's name.

My father in law asked me what 357SIG was and I told him it's a pistol round. But I don't know what SIG means. I told him my guess is that it was probably developed by Sig Arms. Was I right? I tried google but came up empty. Thanks guys.
