What do you carry in bear country?

With that I have right now?

Springfield Armory TRP or HK USP 45.

If I had to go into bear country for whatever reason and I had time to prepare. I'd put a Glock 20 in 10mm on my credit card.

Agree on your elk or moose rifle being first choice, but having a pistol or revolver you're willing to carry isn't a bad thing either. I had a 7' (4 year old) brown bear come running (not charging) towards me while I was sitting on our rubber raft glassing the far shore, he was scared. It had been raining all day (of course) and while my rifle was right next to me the scope covers were on, might as well have been a bat. My fault. I stood up and told him to get the @#$% back in the woods and he did. My guide just looked at me, shook his head and said this is going to be a long hunt lol

BTW this is the bear I took on the sixth day of the hunt in Sept of 2011
