Types and makes of holsters you prefer

All of my conceal carry holsters are kydex, my favorite being my JM Custom Kydex Wing Claw 2.0 with RCS overhooks, for my Glocks. I carry AIWB right at 12:00, and want the RCS claw on any holster.

I guess I don't mind the Serpa, but greatly prefer the Safariland with ALS. I only use the Serpa at trainings for work.

As for paddle holsters, the Serpa and Safarilands are all I really use, as I don't OWB carry outside of work or competition.

I have a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster for my P32, but I also have a Michael Kole custom leather belt holster for it and every other gun I can carry, including a BHP, a P228 and an SP101 3" .327.

I like leather and have a few Don Hume H721 OWB Pancakes.

There are others but I think Don Humes are under appreciated for the money.

I have a Rogers Kydex/Leather hybrid holster for my S&W Model 10 revolver that I purchased back in the early 1980's that is very similar to your holster. I only wish it had a belt loop for OWB carry instead of a paddle.

For IWB am using the Theis hybirds, and am another suspender wearer. Shoulder holster is Null upside down for 638. Have several Galco owb leather holsters for field revolvers, but am rarely using them.

The Blade Tech Klipt kydex IWB for the LCR was perfect (for me). There are no adjustments, but I wouldn't have changed anything. I really liked how the clip was over the trigger to make it fit slimmer. About $30 on Amazon.

I sold the LCR, but am keeping the holster jic.

I like leather, but have a few kydex rigs, too.
For the gun I carry most, I have a leather OWB from Done Hume, of the "avenger" style.
For IWB, I have a K Rounds kydex for appendix carry, which has a pivoting arm that allows the gun to be holstered, then the holstered gun pushed down into position behind the waistband.
I have a Clinger sticky holster for pocket carry.
Last, is a compression-style t-shirt from UnderTech, with built-in shoulder holsters and pockets on both sides.

For range use, I mostly use either a Davis Omega or Blocker Thunder, which are both steel-lined leather, but I also have a couple of Safariland 567/568, which is a good, inexpensive, suede-lined synthetic.

I carry mostly IWB, in a leather holster by DeSantis. I have been pleased with its stability and with its longevity. I use a Remora for a pocket holster, for a Sig P238. I have occasionally used it as an IWB, and was pleasantly surprised at its performance. My wife has used her Remora, also for a P238, quite extensively for IWB, and is happy with it.

Like some others, I am not a kydex fan. Never tried a paddle holster - just never appealed to me enough for me to part with my money.

Over the last 50 years I've bought , tried out and used a lot of holsters .
I just took inventory on all of them and discovered something ...amazing !
All the holsters I have and use , except for one cheap Uncle Mike's fabric type holster (I never bought another) are all Bianchi and are all leather . 3 are black and the other 9 are brown leather . The Galco I thought I had is actually a Bianchi .
Recently I had to replace the gunbelt and holster for my 1970 Ruger Blackhawk and after looking at a bunch and considering prices etc ... I ended up ordering a Bianchi #1L Lawman for $59.95 on sale .

1. For leather, I especially like Milt Sparks and Kramer. I know there are a lot of other good options out there. For concealed carry, I would check Milt Sparks SS2 and Kramer #3. If the pistol is on the small side, I prefer straight pull over FBI cant.

2. Blackhawk Serpa holsters seem to be very much out of favor these days, associated with negligent discharge. I sold one I had no use for anymore and I had to pretty near give it away.

3. I like paddle holsters for range use. Mine are plastic from Red Hill and Comp-Tac. They're not my favorite for concealment though. If I lived somewhere that has a serious winter I would probably consider something like Kramer MSP.

MAKES
I like El Paso Saddlery holster work. Semi-custom. Others include old Alessi, Kramer, Milt Sparks, and several other custom guys. We are spoiled for choice these days.

TYPE
I prefer the OWB pancake/tortilla. Can tote a service gun for CCW in one. I also like Milt Sparks VM2 IWB and clones of it.

SERPA
Keep that **** off my belt and gun.

PADDLE HOLSTERS
A concept I wanted to like, but have yet to encounter one up to my carry standards. Supposed to be "easy on, easy off" but those that stay where they are put when you gear up are a cast iron ***** to get on and off. Might as well just slip on a pancake holster and be done with it. Those I have tried are also "plastic paddle NOT conforming to my hip" uncomfy and conceal for ****.

For gun games or out in the woods, I will sometimes run kydex. Those are about as close to a "commodity" holster as you can get. For games and woods, even the cheapie stuff (except for fobus) works well enough.

1. Leather pancake. Favorite so far is DeSantis Speed Scabbard, but I may branch out soon. I used to prefer the IWB hybrids, like the CBST. They are still useful in some situations. Favorite is the Stealth Gear Revolution.
2. I don't really have a use for it.
3. I don't like them. Either the paddle interferes with getting to my wallet (paddle inside belt & outside pants) or the holster comes off when I draw the gun (paddle inside belt & pants).

I was really a leather fan until I purchased my first Kydex IWB from "Just Holster It" for my EDC LCR357. I like that this holster... retains well, is easily maintained (wipe down with damp cloth) and surprisingly comfortable. I wear it at 1:00 and forget that it's even there. I have a leather Azula IWB for my 3" LCRx that's nice, but am looking to get another Kydex because of their serious retention value. I have an array of Galco OWBs that are well made and I wear on occasion, my favorite being the Combat Master for the variety of guns it'll hold.

I also have a DeSantis pocket holster for my LCR's.

I’m new to holsters and just received my Vedder IWB light tuck today. I can honestly say that I really enjoy the fit and finish of their holsters and will buy from them again.

Prefer THUNDERWEAR holsters. Cannot be beaten for deep concealment.
I only have ONE pair of pants...the rest are shorts and kilts, Florida...
Also have a Desantis pocket holster for my mouse guns.


SERPA makes a good retention holster. The military issue type is nice...
but really only good for hunting/security guard purposes as it's on the leg.

Paddle holsters rarely do what they are supposedly designed to do...
so they're out.

Also have a Miami shoulder holster rig for when I have to wear a suit...rarely.
