Zippy. I believe some of them come with laminated wood; BigJim would know better but that sounds like just a step up from dimensional wood a.k.a. plywood.

They are a laminated hardwood... I had one... The only downside is that they are heavier than the earlier models with the walnut finished hardwood...

look at this beautiful wood! AK-47 grade...

Although I don't particularly like the looks my 20 gauge express sure shoots good...

Keep your eye out... You never know what you might find on a used gun rack... I have a Winchester Model 12 field gun that somebody put Diana Grade wood on.... Paid $500 for it...
