I have only carried a few of my handguns.
1st. Sig P6 - retired - low capacity for size - range gun.
2nd. Kimber 1911 5" - big, heavy, low capacity for size, retired - range gun
3rd. Walther P99 - just a little bigger than a G19, DA first shot, reliable - Secondary carry.
4th. Kahr K9 - Trigger pull is long, small easy to carry, reliable - Primary carry

I still have not found my ideal carry pistol but have settled on the Kahr K9 for now.

Ruger SR9c - Reliable after 2 trips back to factory, too many safeties, wrong kind of magazine release - Sold
Glock 26 Gen4 - Reliable, a little thick, wrong kind of magazine release, no way to control firing mechanism when holstering (a requirement of mine for appendix carry) - Sold
H&K P2000sk - Perfect doublestack carry gun. A little thick compared to single stacks, and holds more than I'm legally allowed to carry - Secondary carry
Walther PPS - Ideal carry. Carry every day in a custom Kydex AIWB holster - Primary carry

Financial ups and downs cause more guns to be sold than anything else. Only one I ever bought as a carry gun that got junked for its lack of ability was an Astra A-100 45ACP. Gah. That was...20 years ago, I think.
Carry guns for the last several years,

CZ SP-01 Phantom - still on my hip.
CZ P-01, carried for years when they first came out, discovered the Phantom fits even better, still a carry gun. Alternated with a CZ PCR when I had one.
Moving into the "lineup" will be the new CZ P-09, when I get the right holster for it.

Colt Combat Commander in .45 ACP at first, but it was just too heavy for me. Now I carry a Bulgarian Makarov, which suits me fine.

S&W Shield 9 in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster or Theiss Hybrid OR a bellyband while exercising. Most carried.

Tristar C100 (CZ Compact clone) in a N82 holster - still on rotation during cooler months

Future-just picked up a P64 so I am sure that will get some work too

Let's see, from time to time it's been:

Revolvers
SW Model 38 Airweight .38 sp
SW Model 637 .38 sp
Colt Cobra .38 sp
Colt Agent .38 sp
SW Model 10 .38 sp
SW Model 27 .357 mag

Semi-autos
Beretta 950 .25 acp
Colt Mustang .380
Sig P238 .380
Ruger .380 LCP
Bersa Thunder .380
Taurus PT 99 9mm
SW Model 3913 9mm
SW M&P 9mm
Kahr CM9 9mm
Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm
Sig P220 Compact (SAO) .45 acp
Dan Wesson CCO .45 acp
Ed Brown Special Forces Carry .45 acp
Les Baer Stinger .45 acp
Sig C3 .45 acp
Colt Combat Elite .45 acp
Dan Wesson CBOB .45 acp
Colt Ultimate Officer's .45 acp

Keep in mind that three or four of those I've only carried a couple of times. My Colt Ultimate Officer, for example, is my "barbecue" gun. I started with the Beretta .25 years ago before concealed carry was legal when I went into bad neighborhoods. I prefer .45s now, clothing permitting. The Dan Wesson CCO is my primary carry. I'll pocket carry the Kahr CM9 or Ruger LCP when not carrying the CCO.

My first carry in 1975 was a Charter arms Undercover, .38 special. I never liked it, couldn't shoot it well, so I sold it around 1977 and bought a ...

Astra Constable in .380acp. Great gun, very reliable and easy to shoot well. A friend wanted it so I sold it to him and next carried a...

Beretta 84f. A perfect gun. I could shoot the Beretta very well. Rock solid reliability. Carried it until I retired it in 2007 for a ...

HK P2000sk. Can't think of enough superlatives to describe the little HK. It's so good, it has no flaws. love it.

I've also carried a Seecamp LWS32 for many years. It's a great pocket gun. It's so small and light. Always works.

I stick with the guns I like.

I've only had my CCW for about 3 years but my first was a:

Ruger LCP w/ crimson trace. Light, very concealable, decent accuracy considering what it was, terrible sights (or lack thereof), extra terrible trigger, I also outgrew/got tired of .380. Sold.

Second was a:

Bersa Thunder 9 UC. Wide, heavy, super accurate, super reliable, super tough. I miss shooting that one, but don't miss carrying it.

Now I own an XDS .45

I just bought it a week ago and haven't carried or got to shoot it yet so the jury is still out. I love the size and conceal-ability, the sights, and feel of the grip, so it seems promising. And I know, the huge scary recall has supposedly spelled doom for the XDS, but I will decide if/when mine is going back after I shoot it some and see if mine shows any of the symptoms of the problem. I'm definitely NOT sending it in when there's no idea of the turnaround time or exactly what will be done for the fix, as is the case right now

Had so many and carried a lot or used as HD.

Current :
Taurus PT145 , Snappy, but accurate for a compact, been totally reliable including my reloads (550 rounds so far), Current carry lineup.

S&W 5906 , Accurate reliable, Current Carry Lineup (cool weather)

S&W SD9VE, Accurate, Reliable, carried did not like the lack of safety, retired to HD

S&W .357 Wheelie Carried a few, mostly Glove box, now Range gun.

Ruger P90 Reliable, Accurate, Range/HD

I trade a lot but there are:
Two guns I have are permanent 5906 and my wheelie.
Three guns I want for permanent a nice 1911 (few in mind), Beretta 92sf, and Sig 226 in 9mm.

G23(awesome), Springfield Range Officer(couldn't afford to shoot .45 as much as I want to shoot, great gun though), Para Ordnance CCO LDA(I'll never buy anything with Para's name on it ever again, their MIM parts are trash), S&W M&P9c(awesome), S&W Airweight J-Frame(awesome)

LCP: frail, defective, unreliable -sold at a huge loss
Colt CCO (w/o firing pin safety): accurate, excellent trigger, light, issues with ejector, currently at Colt
Colt 1991 SS Commander: accurate, solid, reliable, heavy as a brick: regularly CCW
Sig P220: accurate, light, no safety, had issues with trigger reset spring: range gun
HK45: accurate, reliable, light, mostly an "open carry" gun for the woods, slightly too large for CCW when sitting down (really needs a custom holster I have on order)
GI CCO: heavy, reliable, very accurate, built like a tank... there's something about CCWing a 3k gun that bothers me, especially if I have to leave it in the truck to go into a "gun free zone" mostly lives in teh safe
G30: "close enough" accurate, impossible to break, no external safety, very fat: sold
Sig Scorpion: unreliable, sent to Sig twice, sold at a huge loss

Ruger SP101 2.25" - Still Own - Nice to shoot, but not the easiest snub to conceal.
Beretta 950 - Sold - I liked the size, but didn't care for SA pocket carry.
Kimber 1911 - Sold - Reliable, and fun to shoot, but I'm not a fan of condition 1, 2, or 3 for every day carry.
S&W BG380 - Sold - I liked the gun, but decided I don't have room in my pocket for a gun, and there are better options for IWB.
Walther PPQ - Sold - Great gun, but I shoot my G19 better.
SA XDs - Don't want to talk about it - IMO the perfect carry gun.
Glock 19 - Still Own - Not the prettiest, but it points like a finger, and I honestly don't have a problem with the trigger.
Ruger GP100 4" - Still Own - Conceals great under a coat/vest, and has the range to be useful for varmint control.

Beretta 96- My first gun, too big. Traded for Sig P225
S&W M&Pc- During ammo shortage of 2008. Couldn't find .40 ammo. Sold
Sig P225- Too large. I was pretty new at carrying and trying things out. But it fit well in the hand. Sold to pay bills.
S&W 6906- Nice gun but I couldn't hit anything I aimed at with it. I don't know if it was me or the gun, traded for S&W Model 60
S&W Model 60- easily rubbed away the skin on my hand just practicing with 38's. Sold
Ruger LCP- Nice, but killed my finger with its heavy pull. Never got used to it and was afraid I'd never hit anyone in SD. Sold
Ruger LCR 38 a few years ago- Still pocket carry to this day. Excellent gun and doesn't burn my skin away. Don't know what it was about that Model 60
Kahr P9- Decided it would be a perfect carry if it was just a little heavier and could control recoil slightly better. The K9 was put on the list but I couldn't afford one.
Glock 19 Gen 4- Carried when I was out for prolonged periods.
Kahr K9- Ex GF paid for two guns of my choice for my birthday last year. I bought the K9 and a Browning Hi Power. I still have both, put custom work into the Kahr and consider it the perfect IWB gun

KelTec PF-9
KelTec P3AT
S&W 642

All 3 are serviceable, compact carry weapons that easily fit in a pocket. I like the Smith the best, but feel well armed with any of the three.

I bought a Springfield XDs 45 in June with the intent to add it to my rotation. At this point in the fouled up SA recall, I'm wondering if I'll ever see it again. If not, I'm covered.

Jennings J-22: Easy to carry. Worked 25+ years ago. Still works ok.

AMT 45 Backup: Small, but a little heavy. Worked well after replacing the recoil spring and a thorough fluff-n-buff. Must be cleaned and lubed often to keep reliable.

Ruger LC9: Small & light enough for pocket carry (barely). Very durable and reliable - requires no work done to it and doesn't need constant cleaning and lube to keep it reliable.

Glock 17: Too big for me to carry on my my body. Good car gun, also have carried it in various bags, like gym-type bag. 25+ years old and it looks and performs as perfectly (except accuracy, which IMHO stinks) as it did when I bought it.

Fortunately I've never had to use any firearm for self-defense, so I can't give any personal facts in that regard.

S&W Airweight J-Frame(awesome)

totally forgot i used to carry one of these. it was a great carry and i loved the power. the only thing i hated about it was the crazy heavy trigger pull. if it was anything other than a nose-to-nose encounter, i would have had trouble hitting my target.

Well for me, open carry and CC, from 1976 till the last two years - the Colt Government Model Series '70. Hard to do better in much of that timeframe.

Now though, I went with the Glock 23 and 27 for the extra capacity and better concealability. I'll always love the Colt 45ACP and still take it out to the range.

I've carried off and on for about 25 yrs....

a. Colt Gold cup ..1911...45 acp...decent gun / still have it.
b. Wilson Combat 1911, CQB, 5" in .45 acp ...bought new about 12 yrs ago ...and it replaced the Colt / and it still is my primary carry gun - and probably will be forever.
----------
c. Sig 239 ...( single stack, have one in 9mm and one in .40S&W ) ...thought I might carry them, but I don't....
-----------
( I have about 40 handguns....mostly 1911's and S&W revolvers and a few Sigs )....I could carry many of them ( not the big N frame revolvers in 6" or 8 3/8" barrels ..??) ...but many of them in 2 1/2" or 4"...but I rarely do.
