Is the P220 leaving?

I had assumed that there must be a reason they use a different extractor on the 220s. I guess I was wrong in assuming it had to be because the slide still has a breechblock.

For those of you with access to them, how do they machine the interal slide way for the extractor? It isn't from the back, like a 1911, so from the bottom, then?

Extractor in 220ST is easily replaced by prying it out of it's milled well when you remove the slide and turn it over. Didn't strip the 220R, but I assume it's the same slide.

So it is accessed from the underside? Thank you.

Yes, from the underside. It was a do-it-yourself replacement for those with extractor problems in the earlier 220ST's.
