It is pretty easy to build a FAL from parts or you can pay one of the gunsmiths specialing in FALS to assemble/refinsih for about $350.

Parts cost
200-375 for receiver (Imbel or DSA)
$129 grade 3 imbel kit from Dans (good parts - need refinishing)
$60-100 for US parts

Total could be under $500 if built at home.

There are some major hidden costs in homebuilding a FAL.

The cheapest route is sending a parts kit and receiver off to a gunsmith to build and refinish. Of course, the wait can be several months.
