Id say It's Time to sit in your recliner with it, using some Flitz on the face of that cylinder...

Remington "Lead Wipe" cloth (and its equivalent) works great in removing lead deposits on the faces of s/s and nickeled cylinders too. You could even watch tonight's World Series game sitting in your recliner while you make that cylinder shine!

.41 mag gets the job done, too. I hand load, but, there are 2 stores that I know of that stock ammo, here in Georgia. Mine is a Ruger Blackhawk with a 6 1/2" barrel. I love the .41. If your friend don't want his Taurus, ... let me know.
