    Red sight insert for GP100

I know these are sold...the gun is set up for an interchangable front sight. In fact, I had one in my hand at the gun store about 5 years ago and put it back. Where can I find/order one? HELP

    Common powder for 44mag & 10mm?

Is there a good powder that's common to these two calibers? All loading for targets and fun...would like an economical load. 44 mag: Loading for Super Blackhawk revolver and Ruger Deerfield carbine. Shooting JFP, 240g. First trials with Deerfield suggests it needs a fairly stout load to...

    Ruger Deerfield is a shooter!

Took this out for the first time over the weekend....what a great carbine! Easy to handle, fits into your frame nicely, and was very accurate for right out of the box with peep sights and freehand shooting. The action is really strong, which is good and bad. It was finicky about ammo and...

Loose cylinder pin on Super Blackhawk?

After a shooting session, I noticed that my SBH cylinder seems loose on the pin. I know they sell oversized or replacement pins...any experience with these? I'm thinkin' that this must have some effect on accuracy. Hope so...so it's not just my flinching on this big beast!

    Ruger Deerfield - Opinions

Trying to get a handle on owner opinion of this rifle. Have just purchased but won't get a chance to shoot in the next month. Opinions??? Strengths, weaknesses, ammo problems, etc.?

    Ruger Deerfield .44 Mag

So, tell me what you think about this rifle. Seemed easy to handle, well built (as a Ruger should be), and solid. My plan is to have it in a scabbard on my horse someday. I would think the .44 Mag should be good out the 100 yards, no? Not too excited about the 4-round magazine....I don't...

    .45...Kimber, Para, or Springfield???

Got the big bore revolvers and .22 autos....have always wanted a 1911. Done lots of reading and pretty much narrowed it down to these three manufacturers. Plan on spending between $500-$700 for this pistol. This isn't for matches or concealed carry or pin shooting or anything exotic - this is...

.44-40 Cylinder for .44 Mag Super Blackhawk?

I know that Ruger made some convertible SBHs in these calibers. I'm thinking that if I could get my hands on a .44-40 cylinder, I could use it interchangably with my .44 Mag cylinder, no? Any observations?? Now, why I would want to do this I really don't know...I guess, just 'cause I could!

    Calif. magazine restrictions

Does anyone know the legal status of using pre-ban magazines in California. For example, I have a .22 Featherlite rifle that has a 20 round magazine (that's what it came with originally)...if I'm using this and approached by someone in law enforcement, can it be confiscated? Or, my friend has...

    10mm vs. .40 in revolvers

I have a Ruger Blackhawk convertible (well, two actually) in .38-40/10mm. As this is a single action, the 10mm cylinder doesn't use moon clips, etc. - the cartridges just drop into the chambers. I haven't tried shooting .40 in these guns, so I don't even know if the firing pin would even...

    .38-40 handgun loads

Happen to own not one, but two Ruger Blackhawks in .38-40. The cost of this ammo is the reason I got into reloading in the first place. I've kinda settled into loading a 180g bullet with 6.1-6.4g of Unique. Any other suggestions? How about W231?
