    Ruger TD sights

Have shot my new takedown several times now. LOVE the breakdown feature, it locks up tight, flawless function...a very cool rifle. What I DON'T LIKE are the sights. The rear sight is very tiny, as is the front bead - it gets lost. Maybe it's just my 62 year-old eyes...but, I don't have this...

.357 : magnum vs. standard primers?

Just loaded a number of 38 specials and then switched to my .357 mag dies. I see that I am almost out of magnum primers but have a ton of standard primers. How important is using magnum primers for my .357 loads? Can I just use standard primers???

    Henry .22 lever action

Had always wanted one of these and finally decided to buy it....what fun! The action is incredibly smooth and feeds nicely. The rifle points well, handles great, and is just plain fun to shoot. I imagine it will be a standard addition to any shooting session for years to come.

    California Edison shooting

Here we are, in the Republic of California, suffering under the some of the most repressive guns laws in the nation....and, a terrible shooting occurs. Again, it reinforces the point that cracking down on legally possessed firearms do NOT prevent gun crimes!

    22-45 reassembly ...HELP !!

OK, I'm not stupid, un-mechanical, or new to guns. I've searched every forum, post, etc. to help me explain the process of reassembling my Ruger! I've had problems in the past and had a great page saved from OnTargetGuns, but apparently that site is not longer working. Here's the problem. I...

    Light primer strikes, Ruger

Just got back from the range. My Ruger 44 Mag. 50th anniversary model had several light primer strikes....I had to shoot them out of my 629. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Wyoming gun fun

I'm trailering horses to No. Colorado in June so my wife can participate in a week long horse clinic. I'm planning on taking a couple of days for a road trip to Wyoming and S. Dakota (Mt. Rushmore is only 6 hours away!). Any thoughts on interesting gun places to visit....museums, sites, etc...

    Registration in CA???

Is anyone familiar with the California Dept. of Justice voluntary registration form? I have an old (1950's) revolver that I aquired from an old friend....any problem in sending in my $19 and registering it? I'm told this is the form cops use when aquiring new handguns. All thoughts and...

    Why laser sights?

The ads say you need them in a gunfight (well, I know gunfights happen, but I don't know ANYONE who's been in one), that all your training goes out the window, blah blah blah. Since cops are a billion times more likely to get into a gunfight, why don't they use them?

    9mm worth reloading???

I recently picked up a couple of Beretta's in 9mm, a new caliber for me. Aha! a good excuse to add a set of dies do some loading. Researched load info, powders, bullet weights, etc. Got set up today and ran out some ammo. Frankly, it's kind of a pain. The brass is so small it's difficult to...

    '70's issue ammo for Garand

Made a bulk purchase of 1970's production ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt for my Garand. The description says it's "slightly corrosive" so clean your rifle after shooting. I'm assuming "slightly corrosive" must be OK since it was intended as issue ammo - however, I'm looking for input on how soon...

    Super Blackhawk grips

Have owned a 7-1/2" Super Blackhawk for several years. Hated the original wood Ruger grips: the flare at the base makes it awkward to hold, particularly with high-powered rounds. Replaced these grips with one-piece Pachmyer's. Well, they're more comforable and handle the recoil better but...

    Garand clip loading?

Just bought my new Garand....in .30-06, of course! Is there a secret to loading the enbloc clips? I seem to have a great deal of difficulty snapping the rounds into place. Help!!

    SA Champion or Mil-Spec?

The wacky Republic of Kalifornia has new legislation taking effect January 1, 2003 that will make it even more difficult to purchase handguns (as if shotguns or long guns can't kill!). Soooo, I'm thinking I should make my .45 purchase now. The local chain has two Springfields on sale: the...

    Python cylinder timing

Having a problem with my Python. I guess I had only used jacketed ammo in the past...I was shooting lead and it was really spitting shavings to the right. WITHOUT taking it to a gunsmith, what can I do to check the problem and correct it?

    Brass cleaning 101

So, after years of loading dirty brass, I finally broke down and bought a tumbler. Really excited about having nice, clean brass to reload. Having never used a tumbler before, I was pleasantly surprised at the simplicity of setup and use. But, having no experience, I did learn something...
