    Garand stock cleaning?

Here's the deal. I've taken my Garand out a couple times and the top handguard is sweating oil like crazy. It's also lighter than the other pieces. The stock itself is really rough and generally pretty dirty. I don't want to do a full clean/oil job, but need to do something with that...

    Pulled bullets?

Trying to feed my new Garand, looks like RVOW is out of business? Any other recommendations where I can get inexpensive projectiles? I'd consider casting lead, but concerned about buildup and feeding issues.

    Now everyone is a scrounger?

Seems more and more people are scrounging brass at the range I use. Last year it was just myself and maybe one or two other guys harvesting, but last weekend it seemed like every other person was hunting their caliber. The last few stalls were picked clean of everything but 22LR.

    Fresh from the CMP!

Here is my first M1 Garand, right outside the Port Clinton store. They sold completely out of the service grades, so with the help of the CMP guys we found a field grade SA that had a good muzzle and gauged at '2' on both ends. I can't tell you guys how proud I am to have one of these...

    Which die set for Garand?

A little confused about which die set to get for the Garand. http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/7918 http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/8002 http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/8219 If you could elaborate why you chose a particular one...

    Venturing to Ohio...

I have a KY permit. Driving the 6 hours to pick up my CMP Garand this weekend, are there any weird Ohio CC laws I need to know about other than what's on the Handgunlaw.us site?

    'Garand' bullets

Can anyone suggest where I can buy some basic bullets for the Garand I plan to buy? Tossed around the idea of just buying ammo from the CMP but decided in the long run it would be better to just reload for it. Not looking for match grade, just something to send down the barrel...cheaply.

    Gummy bullets with Alox

Not sure what I should do about this. Started to get some jams with my Sig 220 that NEVER has issues, and I attribute it mostly to the lube. Just how thin can I get this stuff and it still keep the barrel from leading?

    Finally, a load that works!

I've had bad issues with my 9mm cast tumbling. Finally got out to test my Lee 358-125-RF mold and it shoots like a laser in my HiPoint carbine! No shotgun pattern, chews a ragged hole at 30 yards. Looks like I just needed a fatter boolit to grab the rifling with. Thought I'd never get this...

    CZ 75 barrel issue

I've come to the conclusion that my CZ's barrel chamber is a different spec than most other 9mm's I've come across. Trying to get different lead bullet profiles to feed, most get jammed against the transition from the chamber to where the casing rests (whatever that is called). So my...

    Sizing my 9mm Bullets

Here's what I've got going. 358 125gr RNFP boolit, drops at 362. They're too fat to chamber in my CZ which slugs at 355. The bullet shoulder hangs on the (freebore?) and won't go completely into battery unless I load it to 1.01"OAL (no, that's not a misprint). I get no accuracy with 356...

    Help...9mm reloads

This is an ongoing problem with my 9mm reloads. First it was accuracy/keyholing, now it's with chambering. My bore slugs out to 355-356. My 356 boolits weren't working so I sold the mold and on the advice of many others, bought the Lee 358-125-FN. Unfortunatly they won't chamber until I seat...

    45ACP...easy!

I'm just pleased as punch reloading my first 45 rounds tonight. I've had almost 1000 cast boolits sitting around for months but finally got primers and set to work. Gotta say these are absurdly easy to reload compared to 9mm. Boolits seated nicely, no variations in OAL, hardly any crimp...

    Let's talk about the Garand

I've been wanting one of these for a number of years and promised myself to get one from the CMP this summer. Right now I cast lead boolits for 9mm and 45acp, but I think it would be prudent to just get FMJ for the rifle. What I'd like to know is how easy/difficult it is to reload for the...

    Recoil...like or dislike?

Wheels got to turning, haven't seen a poll like this in a while. Who here actually likes recoil in a firearm? If that 44 Magnum or 380ACP mouse gun simply didn't buck at all, would you like it better or prefer the gratification of knowing something actually happened when you pull the trigger...

    My Kahr is spoiling me

The K9 continues to impress me. So much that I would love to have a T9 at this point. Just wondering though, why didn't Kahr make a T45? All I see is the polymer version. Something about that bore axis gets me right back on target much quicker than expected. Or maybe my CZ just needs a...

    Sneaky 9mm

Good thing I inspect every single range pickup. First it was the S&Bm (Makarov), now this. 9mmBr. (Browning, 380 Auto). Jeez louise.

    HiPoint carbine owners

Can someone with the 9mm version please have a look and see if this piece that fell out today is in fact part of the gun? Look closely behind the firing pin, there's what appears to be a spot where that piece of metal would have been. The last round today didn't go off and the pin wouldn't...

    Fixed my 9mm tumbling issue!

Finally, no more keyholing. After 12 different combinations, I found the 3.2gr 231 and water dropped to work the best (lower left). These were fired at 20 yards from my CZ 75BD. Barrel was scrubbed clean after each 20 rounds. Make note of the keyholing with air cooled boolits and 3.2gr on...

    CZ 75 recipe please

Obviously what I'm doing isn't working as you can see in the picture. Could someone please tell me what cast boolit and load recipe gives them really good accuracy out of their 75?
