Mac10 open bolt carbine - looking for information

Some years ago I purchased a Mac10 open bolt carbine made by Cobray. Yes, it's a carbine, not a pistol. It is .45 caliber. The forend is actually wooden, and it has a pushbutton sliding/telescopic metal buttstock. I bought it because I had never seen nor heard of one of these before. I...

How hard is it to get set up to make brass for cartridges? What kind of equipment is involved?

    2009 Sig 556 - Who's selling it?

I saw an ad for the 2009 Sig 556 in the Rifleman. This could be my last chance to get, what appears to be, the best and most advanced .556 rifle currently being sold to civilians. The prices on Gunbroker are well over 2K and IMHO are too high, given that the 2008 version sells for about...

    Looking for a G.R.A.D. .22 Knife

Has anyone seen a GRAD .22 Knife-gun for sale anywhere? I used to see these things around a couple of years ago, but can't find anything out there.

    L.E.S. Rogak & Steyr GB

Ok, I'm familiar with the history of these two guns. I own a Steyr GB and love it. I know that the Rogaks had problems due to some poor workmanship and don't work reliably. But, here's my question to any knowledgable people. I really would like to have a L.E.S. Rogak pistol, but I would...

Why is it that rapid fire is not permitted on some ranges?

I can never understand why, especially on outdoor pistol ranges, that rappid firing a handgun is not permitted. How do you work on double taps and tripple taps, when all you can do is slow fire? What's the point?

    StarWars or "futuristic" looking rifles....

While I was reading another thread someone mentioned "weapons that look like they belong on a StarWars set...". This gave me a good idea for a new topic: What are the most "StarWars" (or futuristic) looking rifles, assault pistols or handguns that you are aware of? :D I'll start this off...

    S&W 659: Grips / backstrap mods?

Recently, I have been wanting to go back to using my Smith 659 as my primary Home Defense weapon. I am fairly accurate with this gun, like the da/sa feature but I have one problem. the grip is too thick in my hand. Well, I just got spoiled with other guns that fit me better than my old 659 (I...

Investment Cast or Forged - how do you know?

How do you know which guns of yours use forgings for the receiver and which are investment cast, or other? Can you assume that if it was forged, it would be one of the advertising points? And, therefore if nothing is said, it is probably "investment cast" or "other"?

    Ruger Mark II Observations...

I have a Ruger Mark II all stainless target pistol that had been giving me problems with the trigger. Basically, when it cycled a round into the chamber (safety off of course), I could press the trigger and nothing would happen. But, this happened only intermitently. I'd keep pressing the...

Embarassing Question Re: a Lorcin .380

I have a Lorcin .380 in good condition...for a Lorcin. Yes, I got it legally. Yes, I know their reputation. My question is would a pawn shop or a gun dealer give me $50 for it? I don't want it, and I don't want to be responsible for selling a $50 gun to just anyone. It's not worth...

Looking for info on "MAC d’Armes"....

My first pistol was a chrome 38 special snubnose 5 shot revolver. It appeared to be a copy of a S&W. I believe that it was made in Brazil, and it was a good quality revolver for a cheaper gun. Doing this from memory, the manufacture's name (the best I could tell) was "MAC d'Armes Brazil" I...

What Guns Have Had Parts Break Or Fail?

I'm currious to know what breakages people have experienced, or have witnessed others have with their semi-auto pistols. The only breakage I've ever experineced was a locking block on a Taurus PT-99 about 15 years ago. I've watched torture tests of glocks and other guns, but was wondering if...
