Possession of an AR pistol barrel?

I asked this in the rifle forum as part of an on going thread, but not answered. Can I posses a pistol length barrel before I have a lower receiver, or a completed pistol upper before finishing a lower? As parts come up for sale, the barrel may be purchased before a lower. Do I need a...

Give a Thumbs Up To Online Manufacturers and Retailers That Deserve It

I've done online shopping for a while now. People are quick to start a negative thread when something is wrong, but usually kudos come as a secondary part of other threads. I'm throwing out that: Primary Arms Aero Precision Anderson MFG ... These guys have great prices and the components...

    Ok what about Anderson barrels?

Barrel search continues At the price it would be prudent to at least ask about Anderson barrels. The reviews on Anderson's site are favorable..... I want to hear from TFL'ers Prices are good

    Sell Me on BCM components

My newest build is going to have to be pieced together. Don't have the funds to do it all at once this time. It always gets mentioned that BCM excels for budget builds. BCM parts users that use other things tell me the difference... I'm looking at stocks and buffer, springs and tubes ATM...

Ever have something fall out of a firearm and not know what it was and where it went?

I was thinking today as I changed after work and did a chamber check; I was thinking about this time when my beretta wasn't very old.... I swear something metallic fell out and hit the floor... I remember a faint glimpse of something in motion as well. Heard the sound of a small screw or ball...

Good use for old smart phones and iPods

Don't throw away those old phones... Here is an adapter to view your scope through your phone and record videos or whatever... They sell these but you can easily build one with an old phone case, PVC pipe and a few thumb screws http://youtu.be/JWz05FHnGVU

Uh-oh work switched to polo shirts now CCW is a chore

My work just switched to polo shirts from button up shirts... I was able to conceal just fine in a button shirt with a shoulder rig... I have a few tuckable IWB holsters but at work I never felt it was fully concealed. I always thought the grip protruded too much... I really don't want to buy...

Show me your vintage Weaver scopes on an AR

I'm eyeballing several vintage Weaver scopes around here and there... I love iron sights but my eyes are not as good as they once were.... I really don't want to put a red dot on an AR because even with my eyes... They are not bad, but not too bad, just not as they once was, I can still...

    Life Expectancy for Pmags

Never used them but now I've bought some due to the low price and good reviews I've read here... How long do they last in terms of round count? Do the feed lips wear? Seem really sturdy and well made

Well... I've entered the world of M4gery 16"

I started the month of by deciding to build my own AR. I had intentions of carefully purchasing each part and spacing this out over time... kinda like my own personal lay-away plan...I had the money to buy the rifle outright, but wanted a project lol. Cost was not a factor but always looking for...

So, Tell me about this crazy FAL trigger...

Bought a nice FN FAL a couple of months ago, but only recently had a chance to fire it... I fired it a few times and then handed it off to my mate to shoot some, it doubled on her... Being that she is of small stature, I chalked it up to a bump fire and a wobbly folding table... I fired it from...

    Vancouver, Wa shooting areas

Hi, new to Washington state, need to know places to shoot. People say go to federal lands but I'm not sure how to find them... I routinely hear gun fire from Vancouver lake and it's vaguely mentioned that it's legal there in certain spots... Does anyone know exactly where? Also I'm willing to...

What do you think about this ammo I bought months ago?

I bought this in the first days of the panic.... I just now opened the box. Why does it look like light primer strikes? Or was it done during loading?

Can you carry in Louisiana casinos?

I think this is the most confusing thing I've ever researched. Many people say yes, many say no. As I read the law, with the eyes of a Texan, I think yes. Many people say you will be merely asked to leave... But done say you will spend life in prison lol

Quick product review, John Masen Black Warrior muzzle brake

John Masen #: 1438B Despite online sales descriptions, this brake is for the mini14 581+ series rifles. So if you're holding out because it says it won't fit your new mini, don't worry, it will. The fit was perfect, finish is a little flat but rubbing with oil took care of that. It's an...

Look out, got hosed by the LGS

Someone stopped by the LGS for me and picked up several boxes of Winchester white box .223 first two boxes were legit. 3rd box was actually wolf steel cased. This purchase was made the first few days of the panic. I don't blame the LGS yet for this, because he was waiting for a "guy" to...

    Bare minimum

Sorry. Been around TFL long enough to know I'm about to ask a redundant question. Is it feasible to hand load .223 rem and what's the bare minimum equipment required? I don't foresee any more than one or two boxes a week. I'm thinking just plinking ammo at the moment.
