Why no BHP design in .45 ACP.....yet?

Hello. Actually, if I remember correctly, JMB's version of the HP was to be chambered for a round dimensionally similar to today's .40 S&W, but not as "hot." With the request for the HP in 9mm by the French (which they never bought) and Saive's changes to JMB's original design, the gun just took off in 9mm and was used by so many nations that there was no financial or logistical reason to change anything.

I wish I could remember more on the ballistics of the original "forty" HP round as envisioned by Mr. Browning.

In any event, as has been noted previously, for a .45 ACP HP, so many dimensions would have to be changed that the gun might be a HP in design and function, but not in feel and looks.

Best.

I don't know, Kharn. I've handled those, and they seem more like S&Ws (DA/SA, single column mag, decocker) than BHPs. YMMV.
