Why must paint be Sprayed on a gun?

I spray a lot of my gun builds & would never think of brush painting them. I can get a thinner & more protective smooth coat of paint by spraying.
The best paint I have used is VHT engine enamel, it is a bake on paint that is heat & solvent resistant.

I have tried a brush and for stock finish and it was no good left brush marks

I tried it with meat finish and only use fine brushes for camoflage to get texture.

I am have spraying for the last 25 years. Spraying can leave marks if you mess up.

For some jobs I’ve used a foam ‘brush” from the hardware store but after applying paint, I used the damp foam to texture the finish. The result is a textured matte finish.

For best results.. just can’t beat a properly done spray job.
