Which bolt-action .308?

I have a Howa 1500 in .308 with a heavy barrell. It is a tack driver. I had never heard of them till a couple a years ago. It had a good scope on it and the price was right so now I own one. But I'm so Impressed with it that I will look at them again in other calibers even at retail. BTW I paid $400 for mine 2 years ago.

Get an SPS Remington. I love mine. If you want to later you can change the stock. I got an HS Precision for mine, but to tell you the truth I'm thinking about putting the factory stock back on. It's lighter and easier to carry than the HS and the accuracy is about as good. I mainly use it to shoot groundhogs so + or - a tiny fraction of an inch group doesn't matter to me.
