I have no experience with the DW but have had a great experience with my S&W Commander. It's been 100% for about 4000 rounds (from light SWC's to +P HP's) now and it's more accurate than I am, I don't regret buying it one bit and couldn't be happier with it.

My Pick

I have bought a 357 magnum DW pac with 4 barrels in 1978, and have no problems with after firing 1,000's of rounds through it, so I bought a DW model 1911 last year, it has proven just as reliable.

I prefer the traditional style of my Dan Wesson CBOB. It is an exceptional gun for the money. You probably won't believe me but at my local gun shop guys have traded in Wilsons, Nighthawks, and one Ed Brown for Dan Wesson 1911s (mostly the Valor). But I would say having put those guns side by side that they compare very favorably to the $2000+ 1911s out there. I'd go with the Dan Wesson, oh yeah I did and couldn't be happier with it.
