What's your favorite round to reload?

So the handloading forum is chock full of threads about technical questions, so how about just a preference discussion? Do you enjoy cranking out pistol rounds en masse, or is reloading more of a chore where you look for time to crank out 100's of pistol rounds for a match or practice? Do you prefer spending a couple of hours on rifle cartridge prep when you know your rounds will hold 1/2 moa or better groups? What's your reloading style?

I enjoy loading for my .270. There's nothing like creating rounds that will hold a 2" group at 400 yards. Unfortunately I don't get to shoot it frequently so I don't load for it very often. I don't shoot .223 very much, but I'm trying to hoard loaded rounds and components so I load it semi-frequently. .223 is a pain... it's like a mix between cranking out tons of pistol rounds and loading for my .270. I don't mind the case prep sometimes, sometimes I avoid it for months. I load high volumes of 9mm. That just feels like a chore as most of it's practice ammo. I do enjoy loading .357 as I've started shooting bullseye style with it some.

I only load handgun cartridges. I think they're all fun. It's hard to pick a favorite. I do like loading revolver cartridges better than semi-auto. There is something very satisfying about the last step of putting on a nice roll crimp - like planting a flag after a conquest.

So I'd have to give it to 44 Mag or Spl. They're nice n big, and finished with a roll crimp.

I only load for 308, 38/357, and 45 acp. I will start loading 223 shortly. I enjoy all types of reloading but my favorite is cranking out tons of plinker rounds. I only have a single stage (rock chucker) so a progress of some sort may be in my future eventually.

I load mostly handgun, that is my passion. I routinely load many different chamberings but if I am picking my most favorite -- I'll say it's .38 or .357. Easy, fun, and sooooo many options for phenomenal loads.

My least favorite must be 9mm. I don't hate loading 9mm, but it's more difficult to resize than anything else in handguns that I load and I need a TON of it. So I end up making many thousands of rounds of it annually.

.357 is the most fun for me, because it's so versatile. can load from wimpy .38 to full booming .357. can do lead cast with ease and since I have no semi-auto's in 38/357 I can load as low as I like without worrying about cycling the action. .223 is my 2nd favorite, because ther are so many bullet/powder combo's and the bullets are cheap ad available. 9mm is also my least favorite, mind-numbing and always need mass-quantity, more like work than fun.

Spend the most delicacy with my 30 06 rounds, nothing like taking a deer on opening day with a hand load. The funnest ( if that's a word) has to be for my old skatter gun. Those rounds you make up just to see what kinda damage you can make. Be it slug, bird shott, wax, or dimes. Some times you just need to blow something up.

It's all good. Most satisfying is when you load your own bullets that you cast yourself from remelted spent bullets that you had previously cast, loaded and shot. Recycling at it's finest.

I mainly shoot rifle and I'd say that it's a tie between .30/30 and 7mm Rem Mag.

For handgun, definitely .357 mag

What's your favorite round to reload?

I'll be the odd one out - 12 gauge light target loads. Easy to do, no worries about OAL or seating bullets off center - just crank them out and go shooting...........

I will have to agree with many others, .357 Magnum is what I enjoy the most if I have to pick just one. I really don't dislike any reloading.

This would be an interesting poll, but I realize it would have to be limited due to calibers. Possibly limit to handgun only and probably only most common.

I have to agree.

I load about 50K a year in all different pistol and rifle calibers, progressive and single stage. Full process for precision to just a dunk and load for .38spl. But there is just something cooler about loading .45ACP than anything else.
