"Modern" - subjective?

One of the favorites in my safe is an Italian Beretta BM-59 Nigerian model. Basically a product-improved magazine-fed M1 Garand, developed years before our own M14.

Then there's the Swedish AG-42B Ljungmann, in 6.5x55...

L85

I was always amazed at how Enfield had managed to take a perfectly good rifle and play with until it didn't work.

For those of you who don't know the L85 is essentially an AR18 reworked into a bullpup configuration.

Sure enough! That's what I saw ... only they had bayonets on those little puppies. I guess if you are going to wear a silly 3 foot tall fur hat around in the summer, you had better carry a knife!

I don't have to drool over the SIG webpage - I have quite some of
their stuff, and yes, it's nice.
