Son needs 1911 advice

S&W's are fine 1911s. The run well. I personally don't like the extractor and Schwartz safety.

I am not a fan of that form of drop safety but that is more of a personal issue.

Fine choice. looking forward to a range report.

Did he get the Scandium frame? The Smith that I handled felt very light and well balanced. The only thing that made me pause from buying is I was told you cannot interchange normal 1911 aftermarket parts with Smiths. Don't know if that holds true or not.

I think he'll enjoy it long enough to pass it down to his kid's kid....
