"Ever notice when you are shooting at a big Buck you hardly notice the recoil?"

Thats one shot.

Can't really compare that to 40 shots.

444 marlin and 300gr fn gc with 2400/tuft of dacron = :D

35/30-30 and 200gr fn gc with 2400/tuft of dacron = :D

9.3x57 and 275gr wfn gc and imr4895 = :D

30-40 krag and 165gr ranch dog and h4198 = :D

500 linebaugh(rifle) and 450 lfn gc with hs-6 = :D

all of them go 2000fps or less. they are all deer killers. they are all 150 yard rifles, expect the 500L its 125 yards. they all go further than 150 yards, but that is my limit. i hunt, not shoot at game.

22s are great training tools for shooting bigger calibers and relaxing and fun to shoot. My buddy had a 45 70 and loaded it to 2000fps with 405 grain bullets. After three shots I was like, Yeh cool, I'm done but you can keep shooting.... He sold the gun less than a year later.

The last time I shot this .450 I brought my .17 along too. I'd take 10 shots of .17 for every one of .450. Helped to keep the flinch away.

A full rifle load of 450-577 in a small lightweight carbine WILL ring your bell. My 7# carbine has only been fired around 20 times, and only 2x with a full charge. The first round rung my bell and the second one was to reassure myself that it really was that bad and not a hallucination.
