Very nice 4-screw Officer's Match! I'll bet it is going to be very accurate. It is in great condition. I love the way they used to checker the top strap.

Are you certain that it's a 27-1? If it is, that is indeed a rare bird. I could be wrong, but I think the concensus of the SCSW is that 27-1s and 28-1s do not exist.

1961, same year as Mrs. Match - evidently a pretty decent year.

I believe 27-1's were produced 1961-1962, so my guess is there shouldn't be all that many of them.

VERY NICE! One of the All-Time Classic DA wheelguns! I like the 8 3/8" barrel too! The 27 is at the top of my S&W dream list! I wish I had the appreciation for them when they were still widely available!

Very similar to mine

I have a model 27 no dash with the same barrel length. It was made about 1957 and I bought it used in 1968 for $150, as I recall. They are excellent guns.
