Ruger Mark II Failure to Fire

I literally wore a groove in the firing pin of my MKII gov target model. I won't guess at the round count, you wouldn't believe me anyway. I had occasional FTF, and a new firing pin resolved the problem. The firing pin return spring was also broken. Now, my FTF have returned to the normal expected out of a rim fire. If you have a high mileage MKII, check the firing pin and spring.
