IMR 4064 & RL15 worked about the same with my Rem.700 308, Fed.case 168 Sierra HPBT mk bullet . 41.5 gr. of IMR 4064 200 yard zero. ave. group .5, going to give the new tipped Sierra 168 mk a try.

4064 is the proven tried and true standard for .308 and -06. The only issues that steers folks away from using it is the fact it meters horrible through a drum type powder drop. I stopped using 4064 as it is a matchstick long cut powder. Now that I have invested in an RCBS 1500 combo dispenser it's not an issue so i've gone back to using 4064. Another excellent option to 4064 is 4895.

4064 is listed a lot for 308/30-06. 4895 is listed even more and apparently was one of the standard powders for both in 150 and 173 grain weights, ball and match.
Didnt make it out to the range today but hopefully soon. The weather reports are calling for Noah's flood for the next few days, but I will be shooting off a covered bench

I am impatiently waiting for my CMP M1 Garand. So i'll be joining the ranks for handloading -06. I don't even have the rifle yet and I have about 100 rounds of -06 all loaded up and ready. I admit it am not well and have issues .. LOL

Road Clam, sorry to hear your not 100% but let's face it who is, anyway when your Garand arrives it will get your mind on better things. I owned a M1 back in the 70's sold it to a friend for $ 100 I'm still kicking myself , it's one sweet piece of machinery. Enjoy it & your thumb will never be the same, my nail still doesn't look normal.
