Powders for snubbies?

9's have less case space and run at higher pressure than 38 Special. These conditions make for easier ignition and more complete burn of a slower powder.
agreed, I tried CFEPistol in both 38spl and 44spl with very inconsistent and poor results, however it performs great in my 9s

But from Ramshot’s own website:
TRUE BLUE is the perfect powder for classic calibers such as the 38 Special, 44 Special, and 45 Long Colt.
So it appears as if True Blue is not terribly vulnerable to excessive case capacity.

It may be. I've never used it. My only point is the fact a slower powder works in a 9x19 does not prove it will work well in the lower pressure cartridges. It doesn't prove it won't, either. It's just not a very useful comparison.

I wonder how much crimping would play in this?, If you had more of a crimp on the slower powder would that would give it time to build more peak pressure or better ignition, or would you be more concerned with seating depth.
