Hello Carry_24/7,,,

he cheapy who won't buy his own guns, buys no ammo, but asks when you and him will go shooting again

I know lots of people like that,,,
Those are the ones I encourage to buy a .22 semi pistol.

I do have one friend who loves to go shooting,,,
But refuses to buy a gun of his own.

His only saving grace is that after we burn a brick of .22 LR,,,
My money is no good at the watering hole we stop at,,,
I drink way more than the cost of a Brick of rimfire.

But pure gun/ammo mooches?,,,
I'm with you and don't ask them again.

Except for the college kids I take out shooting,,,
Most of them are of the starving-undergrad persuasion,,,
I have no problem fronting the cash for a brick or two of rimfire.

My problem is not so much with guns and ammo,,,
It's my range membership I feel gets taken advantage of.

By the rules I am only allowed to take a guest three times a year,,,
After that it is expected that they pony up the $145.00 and join for a year,,,
Our range isn't monitored closely so getting caught is not a big deal,,,
I do however wish my range would initiate a guest fee,,,
I would actually collect that and turn the money in.

Ltriker;
Your friend is either deaf or dumb for having, of course, shot through his own plate. That's right!

Shooting with family

Before taking my step-daughter and two grandkids to the range I went over the safety rules at my house. Then I showed them the different firearms they would be shooting. I went over the nomenclature of each of the firearms so they would know how they operated. On the way to the range I kept asking them questions such as “in what condition is a gun until you check it out yourself” and they said “loaded” as they were taught.

After getting to the range I set each one up on a lane and had them shoot my Ruger Mark III .22 semi-auto. Went through 3-4 mags and then went to my Ruger LCP9 9mm, then my Rossi .357 Mag, Colt Combat Commander .45 and my Glock 33 sub-compact .45 with Crimson Trace laser.

They shot for about an hour and had a swell time. My older granddaughter shot very well for her first time with a handgun. I wouldn’t want to be standing if front of her even at 15-20 yards. They all said they wanted to go back soon. :)
