No wonder the Democrats Fear Sarah Palin.

I read the same quotes and see people of different faith, trying to downplay the importance of that faith, and, try to come to a common ground, where a new nation can be established.
That is some real creative rationalization. How do you explain private writings where they clearly state they see no evidence of any supreme being? or that the greatest accomplishment of religion has been persecution and torture? Ben F. says that in multiple writings, Adams says it, etc.

"I was puzzled as to how so many people could hate a decent, honest, God
fearing woman that they barely know"

Seems to me you accurately spelled out why the liberals (Democrats and their propaganda wing, the MSM) hate (fear) Palin as well as language permits!

There IS no evidence of a Supreme Being. I agree with it. The ONLY evidence of religion is personal Divine revelation. It doesn't happen with everyone, or, if it does, the person has to recognize it for what it is, and remember it.

Others might argue that our vary existence is a mathematical impossibility, and, that our existence clearly shows the hand of some sort of being higher then ourselves.

I go back to my original statement, that more people have been killed in the name of God then for any other reason, and, that the inhumanity to fellow man finds God as a great justification for actions that are otherwise inexcusable.

But, this thread is about why do people fear Sarah Palin, not PBP, or God.

People fear that that they don't understand. Liberals can't believe anyone would make the choices she has made, and, that she has the convictions of those choices. Also, her is someone that seems to do things for reasons that can't be explained by the general rules of the game, or, by things that the average liberal can even comprehend.

How can she not be persuaded by big money, and, put herself at jeopardy, opening herself to persecution? How could she shoot the hand that feeds her, taking on corruption she in her own party?

Let's take this to PM since it is violating the religious discussion rule at this point. We are no longer talking just about what the founders believed but religion as a whole.

The founders made pretty clear that they are often not religious themselves and even more often expressed the need for religion to never be involved in government. Beyond that we are getting into religious debate and not discussing their political opinions..

"One of the amendments to the Constitution... expressly declares that 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press,' thereby guarding in the same sentence and under the same words, the freedom of religion, of speech, and of the press; insomuch that whatever violates either throws down the sanctuary which covers the others."

Morality and Ethics are terrifying, and very difficult for people who don't have them to understand.

A good example is Obama and his socialist leanings. I got into it here with some forum members about Glock, and how much money he has, and, as Obama implies, how much is enough for one person? The defenders of Glock brought up Bill Gates, and others, who, by ANY method, legal or illegal, had managed to attain vast wealth. The fact that they did anything necessary, screwing over many people in the process was ok.
If you can rationalize any action in the attainment of wealth, how can you possibly understand the concept that by that action you may destabilize the very nation that allows you to the situation to gain that wealth? Also, it became real clear that Morality and Ethics in these people had one God: MONEY. ANYTHING was ok, as long as it leads to wealth...

That means you are free to practice your religion if you choose to do so. How does that change anything I have said? What is the relevance to this discussion?

Sarah Palin is what democrats have said women should be. Liberated, free to take on a mans world and not take a back seat to anyone. The only problem is she turned out to be a Republican.:)

And you know for years the Dem's tried to make people think that Republicans thought women should be seen & not heard....they were wrong again.

Maybe a lot of people agree with the founding fathers that devoutly religious people make bad politicians.

PBP - Totally ridiculous statement based on your own chosen world view.

By the way, you're the one who turned this away from a discussion of the original topic!! Although, you've indirectly affirmed the original post regarding how fear can cause folks to do funny things.

Read the whole thread then try to make that same statement.

The topic of religion being mixed into politics ir very relevant since that is the main problem many people have with Palin. I know it is pretty much the only problem I have with her so far.

I'm used to that. Carry on. My McCain threads turn into Sarah Palin
threads and my Sarah Palin threads ...

The thread is about why people do not like Palin. Do you contend that her religious convictions are not a reason? Because unless you do, you statement is baseless.

Patently historically false.

Really, send me a PM with your information and I will send you the truth.
History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance, of which their political as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purpose."

Back on topic...the real reason is she's exactly what she said she was in the speech:

"A pitbull with lipstick."
