Mandatory firearms training

Silly notion!

People learn only what they want to learn. Any moron could sit through a required firearms training class, then go out and do stupid stuff. How about proficiency testing instead?

Oh yeah... if you're gonna do this, it can't be like most states conduct driver proficiency exams.... what a joke!

The only required training I'd support would only be related to CCH and would be limited to a thorough airing of the the relevant state's laws on the use of deadly force. In fact I'd support a vigorous effort to scare people out of CCH because of the legal aspects. Other than that, I do not support mandatory training. People need to accept responsibility for their own stupid decisions and failure to get adequate training is stupidity.
