Blue sky rifles are supposed to be reimported ridles that we gave to Korea and then they sold back to us after they were used and abused for decades. One in good shape can be a good shooter.

Off the point, but I used to have a M1B chambered from SA in .308

Recoil on that one was a real *****cat. Rifle was heavy enough to absorb almost all of the recoil.

Anyway, it was a "Navy" special, believe it was made for the rifle team, but not sure. anyway, it was a beaut... like most things in life, looking backward I should've never let that one go... but que'cera

Not to digress too far.

Learn to shoot the Garand with the leather sling and it will reduce felt recoil as it's pulled tight into the shoulder. Shooting the M1 from a bench seems to pound on me more than being slung up in the prone position. I've been using the "backwards" method I got from Jim Owens book for some time.
