Most of my 44 mag. shooting is done with the Lyman 429244; my Lyman mold drops them at 250 grains. I use this bullet when tramping the desert and shooting at rocks a long way off. When I'm on the range shooting at twenty-five to fifty yards I use the Lyam 429215 a 215 grain bullet. However, it doesn't hold up as well as the 250 grain at long range. I don't remember the mold number but Lyman used to make a 180 grain full wad cutter that shot well at twenty five yards.
