Just ordered a Pietta 1860 Army

pretty good shooting there Steve, how many times did you fire it?
And what different loads did you try?

I don't use a filler, yes there is more freebore that way, but at this point in time I am not worrying about that..

After a while it will probably settle in more.

Did it consistently shoot high with all the loads?

I tried 20, 25, and 30 grains 3F Shuetzen.

It consistently shot about 8" high.

My experience with my 1858 is no filler really kills accuracy.

I have not tried no filler with the 1860.

umm, i would ask him before I shot it since it is new..

but then by all means, open her up and take her for a dance..

that is what they were meant for, not to sit on a shelf for ever..

Right on, it still needs to be cleaned of the factory sealed grease anyhow. Maybe i will start there and see where it goes.
