Jerking the trigger

As others stated dry firing with a quarter laying on the muzzle end of the slide. The idea is not to jerk the quarter of when dry firing.:D

"...he jerks it the rest of the way..." Sounds like he's anticipating the recoil or the bang. Even a .22 can throw a new shooter off. Might be that the pistol is too big for his hand or the ear defenders aren't working right. The Buck Mark(?) had a trigger job?
No dry firing with a .22, of course.
