If you can inspect a low end WASR 10 before you buy it, odds are you'll be happy with it. I was able to cherry pick mine a couple years ago and it's been great.

I second that. Here is my GP63 Romanian and it's anything but crap:

I was able to inspect it before I bought it, the front sight isn't even canted like allot are.

Maybe I lucked out because allot of peopole swear Rommies are crap.

Usually that comes from guys that paid TOO MUCH for theirs. AK's have NEVER been about build quality. Only consistincey. They aren't blueprinted, match guns. They are/were shooting machines built for the masses. Seems that is often forgotten

GP WASR-10 10/63 here. made in 1968

I don't think your WASR-10 was made in 1968 that is just part of the serial number. I'm not sure when the original parts were made but the receiver was made quite recently.
