I've had my Glock 17 for about 16 years. Shot countless thousands of rounds through it. But, I've never had to dissassemble anything other than the basic dissasembly involving the removal of the slide, barrel and recoil spring assembly.
I think I'd just pressure wash the gun, or put it in the dishwasher if it ever gets that dirty.
