To those shops that haven't discovered the internet yet, you can still find good deals. They just know what sells locally, and (in general) no one wants revolvers any more.
A couple years ago, I got a mint, 8-3/8" S&W 29 for $475 at a local shop. (great deal)
A month or so ago, I got a mint CZ 97B for $500. (a good deal, to me)
