I have never lost game due to spoiling. After being dressed, I wrap them in the "cheese cloth" game bags and sprinkle on pepper and salt. I then put it into a canvas game bag and hoist it up into the tree untill the hunt is over. This can be as much as a week. It is then transported to the butcher.
