Hey sharpdressedman, when I go to States I get a citizenship after 8 years of word, and then I buy a gold plated ak. I would want to show it to everybody who visits my house. That is said. This ak and dragunov are absolutely insanely good looking.
For good 24k plate work, I'd check Bob Cogans shop in AL; www.apwcogan.com or maybe www.bearcoat.com .
The gold like colors & Ti Nitride like on the Kahr/Magnum Research Desert Eagle are cool.
Generally I do not like "bling" on firearms. But there is a place for it inside firearms. Gold does not rust, need little lube or maintenance to keep on working. I've owned high end shotguns that had gold plated internals (side locks) for this reason. Arrietta (spelling) made many. Also some lesser brand Spanish guns have gold plated internals as they used high end locks purchased from other makers. After seeing this thread I wonder why someone does not gold plate pistol and rifle internals?
