Does any ammo company make "original" .357 loads?

I've fired a few boxes of the Georgia Arms Deerstoppers thru my GP100 and the recoil was pretty stout for a .357. It wasn't as bad as some .44 loads I've concocted, but it was pretty heavy nontheless.

Pardon my intrusion, but didn't the "original" .357 Magnum pistol come with an 8" barrel?

Wouldn't this count in the loading & velocity?

BARREL LENGTH vs VELOCITY

Yes, original loads were made up for original guns.

That said, any manufacturer can make any claim about 'velocity'; testing required.

is one of my favorite ammo sources. So when I got my .357 snubbie (an all-stainless 649 J-frame) I ordered their hottest .357 ammo, naturally. Don't know if it was a deer stopper or not.

Shot about 50 of them and saved the rest in case I ever need to kill an automobile or truck. Very stout in the recoil department.

By the way, I've always been satisfied with their ammo.
