not offened machine ...

just thought i would say how i arrived at the price i got and let all know that i did , to a large extent , seek out a decent deal on the gun .

that thought stated , i believe i would be somewhat shocked to see a new or 98% colt m4 mp edition much below $850 or less .

i did check bud's and i dont remember what their price was , but i ruled it out . have also been on gun broker a good bit ...same story.

i hope to stop typing and get the gun out for a little dance the next few days.

Take lots of ammo and some soda cans for targets, dirt clods and soda cans at 50 & 100 yards are a hoot to get dancing with a Colt Carbine. Nice groups on paper are well earned but the weapon was designed for rapid fire at moving targets which can become quite a challenge and turn a shooting session into an afternoon of fun to keep you smiling for days to come.

I just purchased a Colt 6920 OEM1 NIB for $700, and found new Colt take off handguards, stock, and sling for $50; and finally a new Colt removable A2 carry handle for $80. I ended up with a nice complete 6920 for $830.

The OEM1 and OEM2 kits are great because they only lack the handguards, stock, rear sight, sling, and magazine. Brand new take off furniture can be found all over for cheap.

idaho got a buy ....

in that colt gun
i must confess .... in the stag i sold , to make a deal for the colt i had $0 in it . it was purchased new , but a lady friend i knew at the time sent me to the gun show with a blank check .
i did call her before i made the purchase and wrote the check , just to be sure but she ok'd it .
so when i tracked the colt down and end up purchasing it , i had right at $300 invested in it .
just lucked out . i wouldnt even ask my newest lady companion to agree to that .
you might say i wont push my luck !

No matter what you buy or how much you pay for it, someone will always come along touting how they came up with a better deal. A unfired Colt AR for nine bills all-in is a decent deal.

$799 + shipping ($30?) + tax (say 7.5% = $60) = $889 + dealer fees, means that you got a rifle with the features you wanted (Magpull furniture) for nearly the same price.

While you may have been able to shave a few bucks off of what you paid if you took the time to anally look for the very best deal for each and every part, you have what you want and at a fair price.

Go out and take some of the new off of your Colt, enjoy it and don't worry about a couple of dollars here and there.
