Not so sure you can get away from Jap/Philipino/Chinese glass, these days. Leupold, uses oriental glass, and maybe more. The only thing I resent about Leupold was they tried to deny it.

I don't know if it's true, but I have heard that Zeiss, and some other euro makers use Jap glass on some of their scopes sold in USA. I don't want to believe it! Say it ain't so!

I have been told by a very reliable source virtually ALL lenses of quality used in scopes, cameras, etc are now made in Asia and imported back to USA for final assembly: Outsoursing.
This including the most expensive "American" scopes.
