Art,

The Jewell trigger is actually an assembly that replaces the entire trigger group. You can find some pix of the Jewell and Compass Lake here: http://www.georgiaprecision.com/frames/cattriggers.htm

There was a web page - somewhere - that gave illustrated step-by-step instructions for installation of the Jewell.

For what it's worth, both Fulton Armory and Les Baer use Jewell triggers in their custom rifles.

Good luck on your "project gun."

Another vote for the one-stage JP Enterprises trigger. One of these days I'll spring for the 2-stage Jewell for my high power Bushie.

Hokay. bookmarked the Georgia Precision site.

Think I'll try the polishing suggestions, first. After all, I dunno if I'm gonna keep the critter or not. With scope, mounts, and a 10-round mag-full, it's as heavy as my Weatherby .30-'06!

Art, if you want a cheap fix, buy the DCM trigger from Bushmaster. Just the trigger, no other parts. Remove yours and install the new one with your existing springs and all, maybe a little moly lube. Quick and dirty, but good.

Mine lets off at about 3 pounds and smooooth...

Hope this helps.
