Respectfully, the air handler will not remove the lead residue. Lead is heavy. It will precipitate out of the air stream long before the air is exhausted, unless you have some VERY high velocities.

As attractive as it may seem, this is really not a good idea. I know that's not what you want to hear, but that's what is. If not for the lead issues, I would have done it ten or fifteen years ago.

Not for target practice but I've thought about a set up to test the functionality of guns when you can't get to a range soon.

So have I, and for that I think the solution is a snail trap in (or behind) the garage or shed. I'd love to have one, but they're too pricey for my budget. This little beauty is $1,695 :eek:
