It's hard to go wrong with a Savage with an Accu-Trigger
Right on. Remove value or money from the equation and you still have a high quality, accurate rifle. Counting the bargain, probably the best buy in guns period, what you get for each dollar spent.
Don't know if thiings have changed but their bluing was very poor at that, one step up from being left in the white. Blueing sucks and has outlived any usefulness, and Savage's historically has been pretty weak and prone to rusting. The only knock on them. For the money you save vs. its competition, you can get a bake on ceramic refinsh kit and still have plenty money left to set the rifle up with quality optics (would not be inappropriate to mount optics costing more than the rifle, that's the quality and value were talking here), ammo, etc. It would not deter me but should be noted.
Their new stock is very nice as well. I like scouts and their 10FCM is good as any high dollar custom Model 7, 600, or Mauser action, Ruger Fronteir. You could find one for around 500, and get a very quick handling and nicely utilitarian, rifle of all seasons, in the only right cartridge for it-.308
The LE series is tight and the least expensive way to a REAL precision rifle (just forget HS Precision, boycott all their products even as OEM)
